Hello guys!! Comeback with me on the blog🙋
How was your day? I hope you are always in good health. Here I want to explain the material about "Recount Text : Biography 2"
BUNG TOMO
Event :
Bung Tomo has an interest in journalism. He had worked as a freelance journalist for the Soeara Oemoem Daily in Surabaya in 1937. In 1944 he became a member of the New People's Movement sponsored by Japan, almost nobody knew him. However, all of this prepared Bung Tomo to play a very important role.
In Jakarta, Allied troops arrived on September 30, 1945, Dutch soldiers joined the group. The Dutch flag was flying everywhere. At that time, Bung Tomo was still a reporter at the ANTARA news agency. He was also the head of the information section for the Youth of the Republic of Indonesia (PRI), the most important and largest organization in Surabaya at that time. In October and November 1945, he became one of the most important leaders because he succeeded in mobilizing and arousing the spirit of the people of Surabaya. At that time Surabaya was heavily attacked by British troops who landed to disarm the Japanese occupation troops and free European prisoners.
In the early 1970s, he returned and had a different opinion than the New Order government. He spoke so strongly of the programs run by Suharto that on 11 April 1978 he was detained by the Indonesian government who seemed concerned about his harsh criticism. It was only a year later that he was released by Suharto.
Reoriention :
After the government was pressured by the Ansor Youth Movement (GP) and the Golkar Party (FPG) faction to give Bung Tomo the title of hero on November 9, 2007. Finally the title of national hero was given to Bung Tomo to coincide with the commemoration of Heroes' Day on November 10, 2008. This decision was conveyed by the Minister of Communication and Information of the United Indonesia Cabinet, Muhammad Nuh on November 2, 2008 in Jakarta. History records that the resistance of the Indonesian people in Surabaya which consisted of various ethnic groups was very fierce. There is no fear of facing fully armed British soldiers. November 10 is remembered as Heroes' Day. Bung Tomo is especially remembered for his opening exclamations on his radio broadcasts filled with emotion.
